The Dublin School of Architecture is unique in the Irish architectural and construction education landscape and has been providing professional architectural education since 1942 and construction skills education for over a century. The School has recently been restructured to combine the disciplines of architecture, architectural technology and construction and now offers programmes from apprenticeship to postgraduate research and PhD, combining the activities of architectural and technical design with the craft of making buildings.
The School offers professionally-accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in architecture and architectural technology, and a range of innovative construction related programmes in timber product technology, conservation and building maintenance.
As we anticipate the emerging demand for upskilling of busy working professionals in Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) and retrofit design tools and processes, we have developed a suite of industry-focused postgraduate and CPD upskilling programmes aimed at architects, architectural technologists and other building designers. These include the ‘MSc in Building Performance (Energy Efficiency in Design)’, the ‘CPD Certificate in NZEB Policy & Technology’ and the NSAI-recognised ‘CPD Diploma in Thermal Bridge Assessment’ all of which are offered in distance learning, blended online mode.
We have also developed the ‘Professional Diploma in Architectural Practice’ (RIAI Part 3) programme leading to registration, and the 1 year part time ‘Master of Architecture’ progression programme which is open to all Dip Arch and B Arch graduates.
