With home extensions, retrofits and renovations making up a significant proportion of many architects work, it is critical that they fully understand the various grant-aid supports available to their clients from SEAI. Primarily, homeowners are looking for energy savings and greater indoor comfort. They also want sustainable solutions that are affordable, and SEAI has a range of grant supports designed to suit all property types and project sizes. This SEAI Grant Briefing for Architects at Architecture + Building Expo (held in tandem with the RIAI Conference) is designed to help architects understand the scope and breadth of the supports available, so they can best advise their clients as to the most appropriate option to apply for.
The format will comprise a brief outline by Dr Ciaran Byrne, Director National Retrofit, SEAI, explaining the various grant supports available, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session. Panel members will include Henry Sheahan, Chairman, National Insulation Association of Ireland (NIAI); Caroline Ashe Brady, Director, KORE Insulation (One-Stop-Shop provider); and Simon Jones, Air Quality Matters.
Moderator is Michael Curran, CIBSE Ireland and Head of Building Services, Energy and Utilities at University of Galway.
