Building Product Design’s Passivent and Glidevale Protect ranges provide solutions for the entire building envelope, encompassing roofing ventilation, roofing and construction membranes, and building ventilation.
Leading construction products manufacturer, Building Product Design Ltd, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The company produces under the brands Glidevale Protect and Passivent (along with Kingfisher Louvres) to offer a comprehensive solution for the building envelope, encompassing roofing ventilation, roofing and construction membranes and building ventilation.
Glidevale Protect’s most recent introduction is Protect FrameSafe FR – a new Class A2-s1, d0 flame-retardant external wall breather membrane. Designed to exceed Building Regulations Technical Guidance Document B, it offers added protection against the development of a fire across low, medium and high-rise buildings. It has been independently fire tested by a third-party external laboratory, both free-hanging and as part of a system with sealing tape, mechanically fixed to both A1 and A2 substrates.
Passivent’s range of ventilation products provide sustainable and energy-efficient solutions to improve air quality, provide natural daylight and remove moisture to create healthier, more comfortable environments in the commercial and education sectors.
Passivent recently played its part in the refurbishment of the Grade II listed Matfen Hall hotel, golf and wedding venue in Northumberland, which was designed by Doonan Architects. The company worked closely with specialist building environment and services engineers Skelly & Couch to develop a natural ventilation strategy for the newly-covered external courtyard and 10 Aircool wall ventilators were installed beneath the striking rooflight to maintain a fresh air supply.
