A national architecture exhibition by Building Change in conversation and critique of the construction industry. Unique, inter-active, showcase event. Occupying the entire balcony area of the Main Hall in the RDS during Architecture + Building Expo.
“Constructive Interference” by Building Change is a unique, inter-active showcase event occupying the entire balcony area in the Main Hall of the RDS during Architecture + Building Expo, in conjunction with the RIAI Annual Conference. Curation and design of the project is by RUBBLE.
The interference of two or more waves of equal frequency and phase, resulting in their mutual reinforcement and producing a single amplitude equal to the sum of the amplitudes of the individual waves. This is known as constructive interference.
This Building Change-led enterprise will see student and graduate works presented by each school of architecture in Ireland, investigating an alternative paradigm to the unsustainable global cycle of demolition and construction. Selected works complement or contrasteach other, providing new insights through comparative readings.
Isolated works, proposals, studies, sketches, drawings, models and film will engage with the subject directly or tangentially. Activities throughout the two days will encourage connections between works and ideas from each university.
