With RepowerEU, the European Green Deal, the circular economy and Ireland’s Climate Action Plan all very much to the fore, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep abreast of the detail of these initiatives. Add zero emissions, carbon positive, carbon negative, carbon neutral and climate positive to the mix and it becomes increasingly confusing.
However, these terms are all inextricably linked and inter-dependent, and designed to realise the sustainability holy grail now commonly referred to as net zero. For this to come to fruition requires all involved in AEC – architects, engineers, contractors and product suppliers – to fully understand and embrace these concepts and initiatives.
Hence the vital importance of Architecture & Building Expo, the multi-faceted event being held in conjunction with the RIAI Annual Conference at the RDS on 5 and 6 October 2022. Apart from the conference itself, the programme comprises a unique formula of product displays by exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations and technology; various seminars on critical industry issues; the Architects’ Choice Product Awards; and a number of keyline Breakfast Briefings in conjunction with leading engineering institutions and professional bodies.
As such it is the perfect forum for the exchange and dissemination of vital information that will underpin the net zero objective. It will facilitate direct communication between all industry sectors, and foster a spirit of cooperation and sharing that is vital if the 2030 and 2050 sustainability targets are to be met.
No matter what your role in AEC, participation in the Architecture & Building Expo programme is a must. It is not just that you will benefit from it … you also have a responsibility to contribute. Put the dates in your diary now and Register Now!
